Not sure how to choose the right underfloor heating? In today's article we will introduce you to the basic types of electric underfloor heating according to the installation method.
Heating cable for installation in concrete / anhydrite.
For this installation method it is recommended to use the product TO-2L heating cablewhich is fixed in theGrufast tape.
This type is suitable for all types of floor coverings - laminate, wood, cork, vinyl, PVC, carpet, tile, etc.
The heating cable must be laid 3-8cm below the floor in concrete / anhydrite.
The main advantages are high resistance to mechanical damage during laying and subsequent covering with concrete. A minor disadvantage is the longer temperature rise of the floor during prolonged downtime, the floor has to be heated.
The heating mat is placed in a flexible material just below the covering
Heating mats are used for this method self-adhesive mats HM or a separate heating cable can also be used.
Mats with a typical output of 150-160W/m2 are ideal for areas with a requirement for high temperatures at certain times of the day (bathrooms and toilets).
Caution if you want to use a heating mat under floating floors, you must use one with a reduced output of 100W/m2.

Heating mats are used for this method HML in aluminium foil.
However, this system is not designed for wet areas, it is used for dry areas.
HML heating mats are double-wired, so there is no need to go back to the supply point. The power supply is 230V as standard and the length of the supply cable is 3m.
It is actually a resistance wire in a special glass fabric and aluminium foil.
